City to Prepare Governor Regulation for Freelance Worker Recruitment

The city administration is preparing regulations that regulate the freelance worker recruitment at the level of urban village. All this time, the freelance worker authority lies in related unit thus its recruitment has had legal protection. Later on, 50 freelance workers planned to placed in urban village to maintain the cleanliness and parks in each area.

City Secretary, Saefullah disclosed that his party is still preparing regulations in form of governor regulation regulating such matter. By so, the implementation can be smooth due to having legal protection. "I have to make regulations to avoid unwanted things. I'll do meeting with related units soon," he stated, at City Hall, Monday (7/14).

Parks Sub-Department Freelancers’ Wage Finally Paid Off

According to him, the freelance worker authority lies in related unit. Due to their performance is unoptimal, Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama would change the rules. "We plan to spread 50-100 freelance workers in urban village," he expressed.

He furthered freelance workers will work multifunctional like cleaning waste on the street and drain, maintaining the garden, as well as repairing damaged roads. "We do this because our janitors' performance is unoptimal. Thereby, we want to emulate the private freelance workers in housing. Despite the amount of officers is fewer, but always clean," he explained.

Urban village head will act as zone manager where they have at least 50 freelance workers. Its amount is adjusted to the urban village area and the salary paid in accordance with the Jakarta Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP). If the performance is good, they will get a bonus.

"The freelance workers set to sign a personal contract with the urban village head. Talking about task, for example, A worked at street as long as 200 meters and should be no waste piles, potholes, and tree prone to fall. They maintain the area to keep it clean," he described.

Saefullah added, fund for freelance worker is categorized cheaper. This is because one worker could conduct various works. Those who have a good performance would be recruited again. "I think this way is very thrifty than per department," he uttered.
